He is currently the Deputy Director General of Health in Portugal. He is Public Health Physician in Lisbon and teaches at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. He was responsible for the Coordination of the technical part of the Portuguese Presidency of the EU in 2021. He was the President of the Board of the Regional Administration of Health of Lisbon, a Member of the Executive board of the National Institute of Health in Lisbon, the coordinator of the training of Public Health Physicians in Lisbon region and the member of several working groups including the one of the reform of Public Health Services He has degrees in Public Health, Hospital Administration, Tropical Medicine and Health Services Research. He was trained at Universities in Lisbon, at the LSHTM in London and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Tom Rausch holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics with a specialisation in communication during infectious disease outbreaks. He currently is the Personal Attaché to the Minister of Health in Luxembourg.

Flavia Riccardo, MD, PhD, infectious diseases (ID) specialist is a senior researcher at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità working on epidemic intelligence, risk assessment and national ID surveillance and epidemic/pandemic preparedness and response.
